Geometrical Pattern

Today I had to create and describe a geometrical pattern. This is the shape I created using folding symmetry. I can see that my shape has 4 lines of symmetry. To create my pattern, I folded my paper 4 times, cut out designs and unfold it again. This is a fun and easy geometry activity that really got us thinking!.

Shark Scare Book Review.

Shark Scare

  1. Why did the boys go for a swim every morning? They went swimming to practice swimming for school. They trained by swimming across the bay and back.

  1. What are two possible reasons the mother was not happy about the boys swimming across the bay? They might drown in the water or they might not know how to swim that far.

  1. From the story identify two reactions of the boy on first seeing the "shark".
, that I first saw the long dark shape moving in front of us. I stopped swimming and kept myself upright.
  1. Explain this line from the story:
"Then Jake laughed! I thought he must have gone mad with panic."
He meant that he wasn’t scared because it was just a dolphin and his brother thought it was a shark coming to attack him and his brother.

This task must be complete BEFORE your next teacher session.
It was a sunny day when me and my brother went swimming. I was running down the hot sand, I was first to enter the water till my brother caught up to me because he was a better swimmer than me.Our family lived besides the beach. My mum always watched us swim until we got better. We swam every day to the island and and back.

I stopped, my brother was still swimming. He was so far from me.I was shouting to him to stop and wait for me.He stopped and looked at me.He shouted at me and said “come on”.I said “I saw a shadow in the water”.It was the first time the water was getting warmer.I looked up, I thought it was the clouds shadow but there was no clouds.I saw a shark thin coming towards me. I got scared, I was starting to swim faster.I got so tired I stopped. My brother wasn't scared, it was like he didn't care about his own brother. The shark jumped over me.

The shark jumped over me.I was scared. My hands were over my head. I was crying. I did not get to see the shark. Once it was got back in the water. My brother laughed he said to me “why you crying”, I said “because a shark jumped over my head. He told me it was just a dolphin.
